I"m sure she's a nice lady but what makes her qualified to be a U.S.Senator? I certainly hope Gov Patterson doesn't give in to politics as usual and appoint her to fill Hillary's seat. We need someone who will represent Upstate NY. Has Carolyn ever ventured above Hyde Park?? What do you all think??

She is probably just as qualified to be a U.S. Senator from New York as Hillary was, meaning of course, she isn't. My guess, she wants it for the same reason Hillary did: a step to the Presidency.

You see, now adays, you need only the title of Senator to run for President. You don't need any qualifications of actually doing anything with your life; all you need is the ability to grab a title here or there.

I guess in the end, Ted's prognosis must be a good one, otherwise this interloper would stay in Mass. and get that seat when it opens up.

I don't see Katie Curric or Matt Lauer asking her questions to try to trick her into sounding dumb the way Sarah Palin was interviewed. The liberal media just loves the Kennedy's. This double standard is just proof of the media's bias and I am not a fan of Sarah Palin or a right wing nut.

    Seems she is out:

Caroline Kennedy's mysteriously abrupt decision to abandon her Senate bid gave rise to an ugly swirl of accusations Thursday and feverish speculation over whether she jumped or was pushed. The 51-year-old daughter of President John F. Kennedy was widely considered a front-runner for the Senate seat until she sent a midnight e-mail to reporters and Gov. David Paterson saying she was withdrawing for what she described only as personal reasons.
